The Knowle Inn dates back to the 16th Century, it is ideally situated on the A39 between Bridgwater and Glastonbury in the village of Bawdrip on the old turnpike road.
The Knowle Inn was the only licensed house in the parish in the 16th century. It was held by one family between 1618 and 1657, and was said to be used by travellers on the highway. It was part of Bawdrip Manor until it was sold to the tenant in 1770. It was then called The Bull but regained its original name by 1806.
Our beer garden has its own micro climate due to the walls that surround it and its location nestled in the side of Knowle Hill. We are famous for our floral displays in the summer months and have been awarded for our garden by the Daily Telegraph. The beer garden has a fish pond as well as a large covered smoking area. In the warmer weather we host Barbecues and often have live music outside.
Locally produced real ales are always available, and we pride ourselves on keeping our beer in great condition.
Local beers are always available from Breweries such as Otter Brewery, as well as a selection of Lagers and Ciders. We are now serving Roger Wilkins traditional farmhouse cider on the Hand Pull.
Our varied menu includes lots of pub favourites as well as speciality seafood dishes and grills.
